Bulletin 108 : Cycle funds up in 10/11

The autumn Spokes Bulletin shows a recovery in Scottish cycling investment in 2010/11, almost to its previous high – but there are fears for 2011/12 and beyond…

Spokes Bulletin 108 shows how the one-year new funding put into the Cycling Action Plan for Scotland has restored total cycling investment to its previous high, although it is still lower than under the former Lib/Lab administration in real terms and is also down as a proportion of total transport spending.

Much of the new funding has been allocated via Sustrans, who work with councils and other partners across Scotland.   In total Sustrans will now be undertaking 100 infrastructure projects across Scotland – the Bulletin lists all the projects in Edinburgh, the Lothians, and surrounding areas.
