West Port/Kings Stables consultation ** Spokes 2009 competition... - liaising with Katherine on judging, with Prof Tom Rye and resources group ** Databases.. - Work with Christine, mies and others to update databases; printed Orgs labels for next mailout and organised labelling for Resources Group ** Spokesworker 09.09.09 produced and circulated, paper and website LOBBYING, SUBMISSIONS, EVENTS ** Submissions/Consultations - - Transport Scotland consultn on car parking at stations - complaint to TS and to Holyrood party transport spokespersons re restricted scope of consultn, cars only. - Letter to the Herald on contradiction between govt cycling target and meagre investment [published 14 Sept] [and follow-up letter ?17 Sept] - Paper prepared responding to misleading publicity about research on bike-car distances [in downloads - technical] - circulated widely. Considerable subsequent correspondence. ** Richard Armitage visit - public meeting; meeting with Cllr Mackenzie and officials; follow-up notes/proposals for Cllr Mackenzie ** Linlithgow Station bike info board - organised big opening, with Patrick Harvie MSP and 20 or so local officials, town groups, and Spokes members from elsewhere (to lobby for such boards their own stations). Press, refreshments, distribute contacts lists of attendees, etc. ** Mobility Week - arranging details for Richard Armitage (consultant) visit - Spokes open meeting; high-power meeting with councillors and officials; bike tour of local facilities, etc. ** Other - Series of posters put up, advertising spokes maps to the 7000 cyclists on Pedal for Scotland as they cycled out of Linlithgow [13 Sept]
