SPOKES BULLETIN DISTRIBUTION There are normally 3 issues of the Spokes Bulletin each year, roughly in February, May/Jun and Oct/Nov. We normally print a minimum 12,000 copies of each issue - sometimes more, and never less than 11,500. The Bulletin has 3 main target audiences, all equally important... a. Decision-makers (politicians, officials, consultants, etc, etc) b. Spokes members c. Other cyclists and potential cyclists. For each Bulletin our mailout has envelopes to all Spokes member households (800-850) and to approx 2000 other addresses, as below. The member envelopes also contain the latest 'Spokesworker' action-update and a variety of other relevant flyers/leaflets/maps etc. We do not enclose additional flyers/adverts in the 2000 envelopes to non-members. The vast majority of the ~2800 envelopes are delivered by Spokes volunteers, with Edinburgh split into 20 delivery areas and the Lothians into another 15 or so, covering nearly all the larger settlements. The 12,000 Bulletin copies are distributed as follows (each category shown to nearest 100 or so)... IN THE 850 MEMBER ENVELOPES 850 - one bulletin per envelope 2500 - extra copies sent to selected members who have volunteered to pass on copies at work or elsewhere, e.g. by leafletting bikes parked at their work, in local shopping areas, whatever.
