Spokes Maps Group is responsible for our highly-praised series of cycle maps of Edinburgh, East Lothian, Midlothian and West Lothian.

Map production is a complex process, currently entirely undertaken by voluntary effort, and which includes design, detailed on-the-ground surveying, liaison with public authorities, and expert cartography.
The group (sometimes in conjunction with other groups) also from time to time undertakes activities around the maps, such as seeking grants towards production costs, ensuring bike shops and other outlets are stocked, relevant publicity, and enabling use of the maps for non-standard purposes such as Midlothian’s rail-station info terminals.
