Lothians CargoBike Network, 2026
The Lothians Cargo Bike Network (LCBN) is an informal collective of cargo bike lending organisations across Edinburgh and the Lothians, established to strengthen collaboration and better understand and increase the impact of cargo bikes in the region.
The network emerged from recommendations identified in a mapping report funded by Spokes and undertaken by The Bike Station which identified 17 active bike lending schemes across the region, including numerous community-led initiatives and several larger schemes.
The idea is to share approaches, experiences and practical resources. This should reduce duplication and build a stronger collective evidence base while retaining the local knowledge and flexibility that are important to community-led schemes.
