Bulletin 105 – Late 2009

Good news from Edinburgh Council, whilst at Holyrood the draft budget for 2010/11 yet again boosts trunk road spending whilst maintaining cycling investment at a miserable level.

11,000 copies of Bulletin 105 [Late 2009] in 3000 envelopes are now on their way to members, to many hundreds of decision-makers, to bike shops, libraries, etc – nearly all delivered by 50+ Spokes volunteers.

The Bulletin has an Edinburgh Special centre spread, including the council proposed ‘Cycling Corridor’ [Mayfield-Meadows], and news on council  targets, budget plans, Old Dalkeith Rd, Rodney St, Princes St €¦

The 2010/11 Scottish Budget again freezes active travel & expands trunk roads – see October 24 news item – please write to your MSPs as explained in the news item.

Results from our summer competition – how would you spend £1m to get more people using bikes for everyday journeys.
