- Cyclists do get fined – nearly 200 Edinburgh cyclists received £30 penalties in 2012/13 – The Herald 30.12.13
- Most motorists sometimes behave dangerously – 75% of drivers admitted “risky” driving, according to Police Scotland – Direction Magazine Winter 2013 [page 11] Road Safety Scotland There are many more examples in the annual RAC Reports on Motoring – for example, in the 2012 report 83% admitted ‘regular speeding’ (though, interestingly, 78% supported £200 fines for speeding!) – report on p8 of Spokes 114.
- 496 Edinburgh pedestrians were seriously injured by cars in 2006-2010 (6 by cyclists) – Council Transport Committee report 14.1.14
